Office Manager
Position Overview:
The Office Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the office environment. This includes managing office and kitchen supplies, assisting with onboarding and offboarding processes, overseeing AV setup for meetings, and handling record retention and other administrative tasks. The Office Manager should be proactive, organized, and eager to learn. This role is full-time and on-site in Richmond, VA, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. This position does not directly manage any employees, and This role is Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and reports to the Executive Director and is a part of the management team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the office is stocked with necessary supplies, including office and kitchen items.
Assist the Director of Operations and Human Resources with onboarding and offboarding preparations for employees.
Oversee the setup of AV equipment for board meetings and other events.
Manage record retention and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Perform various administrative tasks to support the office's daily operations and claimant satisfaction.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with staff and vendors.
Ensure a high level of organization and proactive management of office needs.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Proactive and self-starter attitude.
Tech-savvy with the ability to manage basic AV setups and other technical tasks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
Higher education preferred.
Previous experience in office administration, operations or a related field required.
Experience with record retention and compliance is a plus.
Experience with Asana and Slack is a plus.
